Cultural Capital
At Archers Brook we see arts and culture as a tangible way of enabling personal progression. The school vision – Learning today to be successful tomorrow, underpins our ongoing commitment to developing arts and culture.
We are dedicated to raising the importance of arts within the curriculum and the need to build links with other subject areas to develop key skills.
All departments have embedded Cultural Capital into their schemes of work. Using the Arts as a vehicle for our pupils to develop their understanding of the world around them spiritually, morally and socially is transformative.
At our school, we actively promote arts and cultural industries as career choices and incorporate this into careers lessons and work experience in Year 11.
We are committed to the arts as a means of providing a positive and inclusive experience for all pupils. Our Arts rich curriculum impacts positively on our pupils mental health, as well as having a positive effect on their attainment across the curriculum.
We pride ourselves in showcasing and celebrating our pupils work through displays around the school, capturing both the pupil voice and harnessing their enthusiasm for learning through visual encouragement but also reflecting the schools core aim of inclusion and excellence.
