Poppy and Shoe Box Appeal.
At the end of October Arrowpark hospital asked members of the public to send in Poppy's for a display they were putting together for an elderly patients' ward. This was to cheer up patients who because of the COVID pandemic had not received any visitors during their stay in hospital.
I felt that this was something little yet significant that pupils in the Base could do to let others know they were thinking of them.
A member of staff contacted me in November to say thank you to all those who contributed and to tell me that those pieces of artwork had lifted both patients and staff morale. She forwarded a picture of the finished display were alongside other Schools our pupils' artwork can be seen .
This year has been difficult for a lot of people. Because of this staff and pupils in the Base felt it was important to support two charity's rather than one. During the months of October and November we have been very busy collecting and packing both Operation Christmas child boxes and foodbank parcels. We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all those who donated to these two very worthy charitable causes.
