Aims of SMSC
Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural is about more than learning the curriculum, it is used to enhance this broader dimension. It ranges from teaching R.E. and Citizenship through to sex and relationship education and a wide range of extra-curricular and out-of-school activities. These vital dimensions of life and growth should be present across the entire curriculum.
Staff, through their awareness of the pupils, work continuously to develop pupils spiritual, moral, social and cultural thoughts and opinions. PSD lessons also focus on different aspects and issues are addressed as they occur.
We have focused on the different aspects of being British from what makes us British and what is around the British Isles and we are going to look at the different cultures in the communities and the people from different parts of the world who have become British.
